The NCJLA is announcing Directors for the 2010 season. Stephen Dini will head the new team as Executive Director, Kristine Wollam will serve as Director of Girls Lacrosse and Karoline Platt will serve as Director of Boys Lacrosse. The new directors will begin their duties immediately.
Mr. Dini comes to the position with a long history of involvement in Northern California Lacrosse. He has been a coach, administrator and player for 24 years. His early associations with NCJLA began in the 1990s and included coaching, league development and board membership. He served as the NCJLA Board President for 2 of the 5 years he was a member of the board. In addition Mr. Dini has professional experience running athletic departments and fundraising as well as professional skills from the world of finance and development. Mr Dini will also be employed as the Head of Men’s Lacrosse at Notre Dame de Namur University.
Ms Wollam began coaching girls’ lacrosse in 2003 for an NCJLA girls’ club team. This led to involvement with NCJLA as a girls’ delegate where she assisted in planning and developing girls’ lacrosse. When she returned to school for her Masters in Kinesiology and a focus in Sports Psychology, she also took a job as Head Coach of the Novato High School Varsity Girls team.
Ms Platt is stepping down from her position as President of the Folsom-Cordova Lacrosse club to join the NCJLA as Director of Boys Lacrosse. She has been an actively involved parent of two boys who played on the Folsom Varsity Team. Being part of a new and growing club in NCJLA over the last 7 years has introduced her to the workings of NCJLA and the NCJLA membership. A diverse experience in marketing and promotion compliments her enthusiastic support of youth lacrosse.

Franchise leaves San Jose for Everett, Washington
The management of the Stealth franchise have announced that the team is leaving San Jose after six seasons and moving to Everett, Washington. Everett is a suburb of Seattle, and the team will play at the Comcast Arena. The move is effective immediately, and the club will play in Everett starting with the upcoming 2010 season.
The new home arena for the franchise is the Comcast Arena in Everett, Washington, 30 miles north of Seattle. The 8,300-seat arena is also home to the Western Hockey League's Everett Silvertips. The team's new name will be announced at a formal press conference in Everett next week.
"We are very excited about our move to the Comcast Arena at Everett and to introduce the region to the thrilling and fast-paced sport of professional indoor lacrosse," said Stealth owner Denise Watkins. "It is a wonderful opportunity for the franchise. There is a strong lacrosse community already present in Everett and the greater Seattle area. We look forward to becoming an active partner and helping to continue the growth of lacrosse with local high schools and clubs."
"We are thrilled to welcome the world-class National Lacrosse League and Stealth professional lacrosse to the Puget Sound region," said Kim Bedier, Global Spectrum's General Manager for the Comcast Arena at Everett. "Combine the consistently overwhelming support from our fans for sporting events at the Comcast Arena with one of the fastest growing sports in the country, and we are certain to have a great inaugural season."
The National Lacrosse League is the premier professional league in the sport of lacrosse, and features the world's best lacrosse players. The 2010 season will begin in January, and will mark the league's 24th year of pro indoor lacrosse. NLL games draw an average attendance of more than 10,000 fans per game. Total league attendance has exceeded one million fans for each of the past four seasons. "We're excited about coming to the greater Seattle area and the great State of Washington, where the sport of lacrosse is booming," said NLL Commissioner George Daniel. "We look forward to seeing NLL games played at the Comcast Arena in Everett this upcoming season and beyond."
The team is already accepting deposits on 2010 season tickets. Season tickets start as low as $75 for eight games. Great seats can be reserved by putting down a deposit of $50. For more information, call 1-877-MY-75-TIX, email jdilks@sjstealth.com or visit www.sjstealth.com. |

Mill Valley Ca, May 12 2009, KRON-4---- Sportscaster Vern Glenn is turning his mic on the future college scholar-athletes of tomorrow by producing recruiting videos of the promising high school athletes of today. “If a coach or scout cannot see a player live, then a recruiting video is an excellent first impression.” Says Glenn, “ It is an important tool for any pro-active parent or high school coach wishing to get their scholar-athlete noticed by a Div-1, II, or III school.”
